So, soon after the aforementioned Mixtape Melee went down, I was contacted by Adam WarRock to produce his sophomore album, “You Dare Call That Thing… Human?!” which is a follow-up to his incredibly good debut concept album, “The War For Infinity.” A chance to finally put out an official, professional record with all the bells and whistles, and with one of the biggest names in Nerdcore? Needless to say, I totally jumped on that like you wouldn’t believe.

So after about four and a half months of some extremely stressful-but-fun times working tirelessly on this album, it’s finally finished! There’s a great line-up of tracks, and some absolutely fantastic guest appearances on there, including MC Lars and Doctor Awkward. The first single, entitled “616″ is out right now and you can check it out here:

So there’s these group of guys that run an extremely awesome podcast called Nerdy Show, right? They talk about all types of amazing things, and it’s usually funny as hell. Anyway, on top of having a kickass podcast, a couple spin-offs and a semi-web comic, from time to time they also decide to host contests for listeners to send in submissions to get featured in upcoming shows and downloadable projects.

I stumbled upon their website about the same time that they’d just announced their new contest, which was the Marvel vs Capcom 3-on-3 Mixtape Melee. To celebrate the brand new release of Marvel vs Capcom 3 (and later, the Ultimate version), they asked contestants to create and submit hip-hop beats using samples from ANY Marvel or Capcom medium. Video games, movies scores, TV shows, whatever. Everything was fair game, and after the smoke cleared, the beats chosen were gonna get some of the best and nerdiest rhymes dropped on ‘em by an incredible, all-star cast of Nerdcore rappers: Mega Ran (aka Random), Adam WarRock, Tribe One, My Parents Favorite Music, Wordburglar, and 8-Bit Duane.

Anyway! Long story short, they didn’t get many submissions by the deadline, I stepped in and volunteered to spearhead this mofo, dropped 9 of the sickest MvC beats on their virtual doorstep, and the contest was saved. Wow… that didn’t sound arrogant at all. Even so, that’s pretty much how it went down, and Nerdy Show has now released the first half of the songs, the Marvel side, ready and waiting for download HERE. Adam WarRock, Tribe One, and Wordburglar killed it with the beats I did, and there’s even a special guest track by Storyville on an MC Squared beat. Get it!
