Bio
Vince Vandal has been playing instruments for as long as he can
remember. He plays trumpet, clarinet, bass clarinet, saxophone,
keyboard, and guitar, and he has additional instruments he wants
to learn to play. He began monster-mashing songs from cassette
tapes and CDs, taking snippets from tracks and turning them into
full-blown instrumentals for he and his friends to rap over when
he was only twelve, and later graduated to making music on a
keyboard in 1998.
Over the course of the next few years, Vince continued creating
music for the love of it, while also grinding out his daily
existence, starting in Baltimore, then moving to Chicago in 2001,
and finally heading back home to Baltimore. In 2010, a twist of
circumstance left him with enough time on his hands to fully
devote himself to making music. Soon after, the Marvel Vs. Capcom
Mixtape contest, run by Nerdy Show, opened the door to Nerdcore.
When Nerdy Show didn’t receive enough submissions to the
contest to fill the tape, Vince offered to complete it for them.
All together he submitted 9 beats, and his music became the
background for rhymes by Adam Warrock, Tribe One, and
Wordburglar. In 2011, Vince began working on “You Dare Call That
Thing Human?!?”, Adam WarRock’s 2nd full album, for which he
created all of the beats and completed the mixing.
Vince appreciates music from a diverse range of genres and areas,
and he uses that influence to create his unique sound. His
experience playing and creating music, which ranges from
Classical to Rock to Metal to Rap to video game scores, gives him
a rich musical history to fall back on.
When he is not making music, Vince enjoys playing video games, so
it’s not uncommon find him hanging on the PSN or XBox Live. Vince
also spends his time attending and volunteering for anime
conventions and hanging with his girlfriend and their
ridiculously cute cats.
